weird pattern of turning on and off instead of boot

Please help, I suspected my motherboard to be broken because at first it did not boot. I looked into the socket and found one pin miss aligned, I re aligned it with a small screwdriver. But now when I turn on the power the fans spin for about half a second and turn off again and repeats but then on e sixth time they turn on for about 3 seconds and the light strip on the board comes on but then that stops and repeats until I turn off the power. Any suggestions or is the mobo dead?

That sounds like a faulty motherboard to me, but what you can do to double check is to take out the components from your case, place the motherboard on any cardboard box and connect the components to it again, then see if it will boot. This is to see if your motherboard was being short-circuited on something in your case.
