Shutting down Windows 8

So I recently bought Windows 8 and I haven't found a way to shut down my computer other than Win + L. Is there something I'm missing?

If you move your mouse to the top or bottom right corner, a charms menu will slide out. Then click on settings, power, and shut down. Another way is to click anywhere on your desktop, hit Alt + F4, and there will be a shut down option.

Or you can do Win+I to directly show the Settings side menu, isn't of doing the full mouse navigation.

Or you can hit the power button on your computer. DO NOT press and hold the power button for 4 sec. Hitting once the power button tell Windows to shutdown, or sleep (you decided in the Windows Power options),

Yes, its a bit stupid, hopefully Microsoft will add somewhere the shutdown button for easier access in later Windows updates, but a minor drawback to the current interface.

I created a shortcut on my start screen and put the shutdown Icon on it.

[edit] Did the shortcut thing for to logoff from our 2012 Server.

If its that hard to shut down i think i will wait for service pack 1 before making the upgrade

by default in windows if you press the power buttion on your computer once , it will start the shut-down process.
