Macbook Pro Display blurry

The problem arose when i opened Google chrome, all font seems to be blurry. I'm not sure what setting i need to be looking at as i can't find which one it could be that would cause it... I've disabled font smoothing which did a small amount to help but the problem is still there, the resolution is also set to the highest (however whenever i leave the display setting it resets to 'Best for display' and not 'Scaled'). 

 

I've probably had about 6 hours experience with Mac OS so have no idea what i'm doing with it. Anyone know how to fix it? is it a problem in Chrome or my Macbook? The problem doesn't seem to be so bad in other applications, only Chrome.
