My mouse began to stutter, and refuse to register movement for a few seconds every now and then. Now it just will not register any movement what so ever. My computer can still detect it, and register right and left clicks, scrolling etc, any other function just not move anymore.

I've tried driver updates, and completely removing and re-installing. The part that confuses me is that when I unplug the usb connector, it also makes my keyboard stop responding. So is it possibly a port problem? I thought i'd just get peoples opinions before I warranty claim on it only to realize I have a problem with my motherboard or something.

I'm curerntly using my g400, which seems to be responding fine.

Firstly, make sure there is no stress restricting power flow anywhere on the cable. This can usually happen if your PC is under your desk and the cable comes up from the back. Secondly, check to see if the USB header can be wiggled easily and try to secure it into place. If that doesn't work then try a different port or try USB 2.0 instead of 3.0 and vice versa.

I moved my desktop so I could easily swap usb ports, all of them had the same issue. Could register clicks but no movement. I held it in the same position as I tried, so it couldn't move much at all. I have no idea why, but my keyboard was no longer disconnecting so I'm not really sure why that was occurring at all.

I tried both rear and front connectors

Edit: Same issue on a 2nd computer, so It's pretty much just the sensor
