if you're only spending $500, you can't spend $70 on the keyboard.  get a $10 keyboard at the most, and a cheap mouse.   put the extra money into a graphics card

XEON E3 1231v3 | GA-Z97MX GAMING 5 | XFX R9 290 | 16GB RAM | CRUCIAL MX100 256GB | WD BLUE 1TB | EVGA SUPERNOVA 850W | CORSAIR 350D

this is a little more than $500, and doesn't have peripherals, but it is the best thing you can get for this price.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($188.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($43.89 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $551.75
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

If you wanted to save some money, you could go with an i3 instead of the i5
