Yo!

So, I currently have my main server in a regular PC chassis (http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/elite-335u/)

And I was looking at putting it in a cheap rackmount (7U for $50) to help with heat and noise.

What would be the best way to do this? I see my options as:

1. Buy a new rackmountable chassis. (Too expensive, current one is brand new)

2. Buy a shelf for the rack and place the current case on there laying down (Increase of height)

3. Make some ghetto mods to the case to enable it to be rackmountable. (Looks messy)

Options 2 and 3 are what I most probably want to go for, however will this even be worth it, seeing as (by my calculations) this case will take up 5U of space in the cabinet, leaving 2U free for networking/expansion.

What are your opinions?

Cheers!
