Hey guys

So I recently just got the GTX 970 that I upgraded from my 7770. Anyway I'm having an issue while opening games. for whatever reason when I open a game the screen goes black and I have to turn off my monitor and turn it back on for the game to show up.

Is there any reason for this? What can I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance

May be a driver problem. Did you completely uninstall the AMD drivers before you installed the Nvidia ones?

 eGPU Setup: Macbook Pro 13" 16GB DDR3 RAM, 512GB SSD, i5 3210M, GTX 980 eGPU

Did you completely uninstall AMDs drivers? If so, maybe do a clean reinstall of the 970 drivers, and if those don't fix it, try an older driver?

Are you running your games at your monitors native resolution?

The GeForce experience attempted to run them at some crazy resolution i disabled them from doing that but it started happening ever since i got the geforce experience. I'm currently using HDMI because my Displayport Cable isnt in yet. Should i try removing the geforce experience and see what happens then?

Play games in borderless windowed mode if all else fails.

I use a Lenovo T440: i5 4300U, 8GB RAM, 128GB Samsung 840 Evo, 14" 900p display and an external 23" 1080p passive 3D monitor. Extended 6-cell battery with internal 3-cell. Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (I only use open-source software -- haven't paid for a single program yet).
