This makes no sense, getting a watercooler for the maxwell chipset. (my opinion)

You know that you can´t overclock your cpu and you have selected a mainboard used for overclocking.

You´ll need 8gb-12gb max if you are only gaming.

No hdd for installing the large amount of games?

Not worth it.

Thanks! This is a build that is sold on some website and I just copied the specifications over. Pretty sure they have another HDD though.

Apart from changing the processor to an overclockable one, what else could be swopped around to make it more worth it?

Swap it to a K model? More ram is always a good thing IMO because it sucks having like 8 gigs and then trying to do several things at once everything slows down. Gaming PCs these days normally end up doing video rendering for youtube etc not to mention the readily available Adobe programs etc so I always recommend 16gb min these days to gamers. Watercooling the CPU when overclocking yields the best results I've seen even on these chips. IF YOU CAN COOL IT YOU CAN CLOCK IT!  ;)

Honestly, I don't think it's worth it. It's more of a looks and "because I can" type of thing. You'd be better off with a closed loop cooler for your CPU, and your 970 will be fine on air. And if you plan to overclock, you need the K version of the 4790k.

Good luck!
