Okay so I'm looking to build a new system. However I'm going sli 970's and have a 5930k I want to make sure a 1000 watt psu will be enough since 1 970 requires a 500watt. I believe from doing a little reading that a 850 should be enough however I'm going to have 6 case fans on a phanteks enthoo pro and a corsair h100i.

A full system with two 970s fully overclocked can run on a 650w psu.

Get the EVGA G2 750w.

Are we talking about 3/4-way SLI? Are we talking about a gaming rig here or a rendering workstation? If we are talking about gaming here you don't need a 5930k.

I'm mostly gonna use it for gaming however when I need it to render I need it done quickly.

You should just save $500~ and get an i7 4790k instead. As a 4790k will perform identically in gaming (if you can get your 5930k overclocked to 4790k speeds).

I thank you reducing the cpu to a 4790k allowed me to get an ssd. I also figured I can wait on the sli for later I just need to get the system built for now. I'm currently looking around 1.7k usd.

I assume you mean 1.7k after you pick up a second 970, otherwise thats a lot.

I'm aiming for a black/red design. Asus strix card and Asus RoG board etc...

Something like this

Looks good.

I would get a different cpu cooler. The H105 is good at high loads & overclocks, not so good with lower speeds and loads. You could get the H100i. But consider first the Kraken X61, Swiftech H240-X, or if quiet running is more important than overclocking an NH-D14 or NH-U12S.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Alright thank you. I prefer H100i personally. I liked the 105 because of the color choice of red.

Seeing as the case is pretty silent from most of the reviews I have read I think I going with Swiftech H240-X. I also plan on Ocing it not to the point of retarded but I do plan on seeing how far i can get it before I set it to where I want it. I believe the swiftech will be perfect and looks great. Also those noctua's are huge.
