I have been waiting for months. I now finally got my case for my new, upcoming build and I will get the GPU in a few days. I have just been so excited and I can't wait any longer! I mean, the PC should work just fine without a GPU and I can just plug it in later, when I have it... right? The processor does  have integrated graphics, right? So basically, it should work just fine?

Yes, you'll be fine, don't expect to game though, but you probably already knew that :P. What I recommend you do is when you're building it route the cables for the PSU now so then you just need to shut down the computer, open it, pop the GPU in, install drivers and you're ready to go.

i'm a potato

If it has Integrated Graphics it should work fine.

Just make sure to disable it when you plan to use the desinated GPU

Thanks for all of your help.

I know I can't game on it (strange, ha? :P), maybe I won't even install the OS, but if you have ever built a computer, you probably know what I'm talking about.

I did not check for integrated graphics, but come one, it's not like this is AMD. And even if it doesn't, what's the worst thing it could happen?

What is the fact with disabling the integrated graphics later and what not? I mean, I know it's not just as easy as plugging things in

(what ever is?), but is there a BIG DEAL?

I did this with my rig, I got it about 2 months ago I think and still have no graphics card for it, though plan on getting a 970 next month.

(Specs in sig, I am able to play skyrim on minimum settings with 60+ mods at 1050p [Don't have a 1080p monitor yet...], I get around 40-70 FPS depending on the area.)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

Thanks.

Its nice to hear from someone who went thru it themself.

Its been a little rough when trying to game using the i5 4690K's integrated HD 4600 graphics, but it can handle most games with console settings at console framerates at console resolutions xD (Low settings, 30FPS, 900p)

Well, I did it.

Took me 2 and a half hours last night. I installed everything, did the cable management, connected everything... I even prepared the cables for the GPU. I didn't do the test boot until it was all finished. So when the system posted, it was a huge relief. Everything works fine, I even went to the BIOS, it detects everything, RAM, drives...

I made it so it will now only take about 5 min to install the GPU.
