Hey people,

Last november, I bought a new asus laptop. It was an r500vd with an I7 3610QM, a geforce gt610M, 6 gigs of RAM and Windows 7. I couldn't use it untill december because it was a christmas present. When I got it, I had a lot of BSOD's. I went back to the shop where I bought it, paradigit, and they sent it to ASUS for repair. After the second repair it still had the exact same problem. I went back to paradigit and they said it wasn't normal and they wanted to help me find a new laptop. I ended with an ASUS N56VJ which has Windows 8. I was quite happy I finally had a working laptop and I ended with even better specs. An I7 3630M and a geforce 635M. I was happily booting it up, but then, even before I did anything at the desktop, not even install google chrome, I got another BSOD. At first I didn't know it was a BSOD, because in Windows 8, it looks a bit more friendly. When I found out it was quite a serious problem, I downloaded Nirsoft bluescreenview. After I had a list of 50+ BSOD's, I asked ASUS for help and they said I should do a recovery. Even after this, I had the same problem and I had ASUS pick it up at my house and repair it in just 2 weeks time. When it came back, I was really excited, because this probably meant I finally had a working computer after a bit less than 6 months. But no. First, I looked aat the forms, which said they replaced the cpu, motherboard, hdd and reconfigured all the software. I switched it on to find it in the BIOS. As somebody who watches Linus' video's, I calmly pressed f10 to save & restart. It restarted and......BSOD.....I'm not sure if I void my warranty if I buy myself a new copy of Windows 8, I'm not even sure if that would solve my problem. I feel kinda stupid right now, but I'd really like to just enjoy my €900 computer, because as a 14 year old, I don't really have the money to buy something else. I think if there's any place to ask, it's here. So please, LinusTechTips community, HELP ME!

Thanks

sorry for any weird sentences or something like that, because I'm from the Netherlands

Just don't mention it, especially if you didn't change anything, and ask for some money replacement, and buy another brand, simple as that.

Just tell them this is the Nth issue with this laptop (aka purchase for you, I didn't count how many times you contacted them) and you want to issue a Lemon recall, meaning this is just not working for you and want your money back. You also need to get your parent(s) included in that discussion as they probably paid for it and can call the Credit Card company for help on the matter if they don't want to give you your money back for this lemon of a laptop (that's what I would call it). In any discussion with them keep re-iterating the BSOD and nothing else, not even if it booted once, just keep saying it only BSOD's when ever you boot it (that should be the only statements coming out of your mouth, nothing else not that you tried X and Y just BSOD).

Also:

If they sent a guy out did he not boot it up? That seems totally wrong based on the issue?

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

Thank you very much. I'll try doing that. I actually paid it myself. I guess he didn't boot it up, because that's the only way I can explain why the BIOS was open when I got it
