I was wondering if anyone could help me upgrade this computer so I could play games on medium - high settings. I want to know your thoughts on this upgrade and if it is worth it and if the parts are even compilable. I would greatly appreciate the help.  :)

Current Build : Pre-Built I know...

CPU: Intel® Core i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10GHz
Motherboard:  H-Joshua-H61-uATX (Joshua)
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7400 Series

These are some parts others have suggested

Plan :

Case: Antec One
So I can have a proper case with more air flow and I will take any suggest on some good fans.

Power Supply: Rosewill CAPSTONE 750W
I might eventually move this to a different build in the futrue.

Yes, I think that those parts are compatible.

Though you could get an r9 280 for less than the 760 and it would perform better: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202099&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Get an EVGA PSU and instead of a 760 you could get an R9 280 for around the same price and it'll perform better.

It all depends on how much you have for the upgrade the best bang for buck if you can afford it would be the 970, but don't forget the 960 is expected to launch in January so if your willing to wait you could pick up a 760 then for about 10-15% off. Additionally if your ram is currently under 8gb a two stick kit could help.

Of course if there are features you use on an amd card already go for the r9 280 but remember that 9 series nvidia cards are significantly more energy efficient.

Thanks of all the help Guys! Do you guys think I will have enough room for the r9 280 on my motherboard. Because it is 10.32" x 4.41" not like the EVGA GeForce GTX760 9.5 x 4.4

I don't think you can buy them, you have to build them. http://cinemassacre.com/2011/03/17/nintoaster-instructional-video/

Ah i see. I still want to build the idea i had 4 years ago. Build a custom pc case and put a xbox 360, ps3, wii, and a pc all in one case but now instead of the old systems i want to build one with a xbox one, ps4, wii u, and a pc all in one case with full functionality. Talk about the ultimate entertainment system.

Kind of reminds me of the Super Genintari, which was made by the same person who made the NES toaster. http://gizmodo.com/379259/super-genintari-4-in-1-console-jams-nintendo-sega-and-atari That would be a really cool project. Even cooler if they all use the same disk drive. Maybe when you put the disk in, it will auto detect the system and start that console up. That would be really cool.

I dont know if that would be possible since the ps4 and xbox one both use Blue ray and the other two use DVD-ROM. plus i think it would go into modding the system programming itself which could and probably would result in a perma ban from online play. Id rather just use 4 separate drives and just do something to each one visually to separate them.

Oh yeah I forgot the Xbox one uses Bluray too. I know it would be really hard, but man that would be really cool. You could maybe have the computer recognize it and then the computer turns that system on? And then, when the new system comes on, the video output auto switches?

Yea ive thought of that but unfortunately again that would require changing the consoles programming in order to allow the pc to fully control it since they normally kick on if you insert a disk which would result in getting banned for modifying microsoft's, sony's, and nintendo's programming. I did something similar with a pc for a friend back in 2010 with the pc and xbox 360 and it got banned 2 months later for modding. The only way i can think of doing it would be to do a mechanical switch on top of the case that you would have to press before inserting a disk to select your system. Which in turn wouldnt actually modify their programming all it would do is complete the circuit on which ever system is selected at the time through a mechanical connection.

Damn consoles and their heavy restrictions! This would be so cool. Oh well.

Yea but you gotta understand why they are so restrictive is because its so easy to modify a console to play burned games or for hacks so they just assume any modification is bad and just auto-ban them.

I understand, but still. Unfortunate. It's a shame.

Yea it is because I could easily make what you was talking about earlier work but I wouldnt do it knowing the consoles would get banned for it since the newer gen consoles are useless if you cant play online. Even if it wasnt my money or consoles i was playing with.

You should put an NES into a PC. That'd be cooler anyway! Make it out of a front loader and a CopyNES (sold at http://www.retrousb.com), have the game slide into a 5.25 inch bay and then have it auto dump the ROM to your PC and set up an emulator to auto start the newly created ROM. That would be dope.

Not a bad idea. Though i would say i dont play my old NES enough to really warrant doing it though. If i was to do something with a vintage system it would be with a Sega Genesis or Atari i play both a lot.

I'm not sure how ROM dumping works on either of those, but I'm sure it could be done. Geni in a computer would be super cool....

I just remembered that Atari 2600 and Sega Geni use the same controller ports. Put them in a PC, liquid cool the systems, games slide into 5.25 inch bays, and get some of these suckers http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=69. You're system would be unstoppable. Please do this!

I might after i build my frankenstein gaming/college pc in march. Im going to build in a NZXT S340 with an i7-4790k and a 970 but i plan to construct a black diamond plate case extension on top with two 8 inch tall cylinder res's coming out of the case extension about 4 inches with tubing running on the outside of the case doing it all in a white and black theme. This will be my personal rig. I might do the other after with lower end components as a steam box/entertainment system afterwards.
