i7-5930k

Go to solution Solved by Deserter15,

CPU boss is usually reliable for comparing single core performance.

4790k has the best single core performance, then 4690k, then the 5930k.

CPU: AMD FX-6350@4.2Ghz GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX2.0 RAM: 2x4Gb Kingston Fury Black + 2x4Gb Corsair Vengeance HDD: WD Green 1Tb SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 60Gb CASE: DeepCool Tesseract SW

they are all haswell based cpu's to the 4790K, 4690K and 5930K all have the same single core performance because they have the same cores.

What differs them is the clockspeed, number of cores and wheter they feature hyper-threading or not.

both of those things are completely wrong and it has been selected as a good answer already..

-CPU boss is complete bullshit it's a site that should be completely removed from the internet, most of what this site is about is based on specs only and not actual performance.

-OUT OF THE BOX the i7-4790K has the best single-threaded performance being a 4ghz CPU with a 4.4ghz turbo, then come the i5-4690K with a 3.8ghz boost  and finaly the i7-5930K at 3.7ghz boost clock...if you clock all of them at 4ghz for example they then all have the same single-threaded perfomance.

Assuming you can get them all to 4ghz (lottery and what not).  And if you don't look at just the final scores, cpuboss is pretty reliable.

And this was just assuming stock clock because that is the only guaranteed clock speed.

nevermind

...i had a guy the other day arguying me on my youtube chanel that the pentium G3258 had a much faster single-threaded performance than any of those i5's or i7's because it was meant for single-threaded stuff...he said the i5 and i7 where great for multi-threaded stuff but not so much for single-threads :P

i tried to explain to him that an haswell cpu core is an haswell core and that at the same clockspeed any haswell cpu will process a single-threaded load at exactly the same speed and performance but he never wanted to believe me lol
