I was going to buy the Hyper X cloud at Amazon for only about 70 bucks directly from them. But unfortunately, amazon seems to have stopped directly selling them and now I can only buy them starting at 149 for the black and 111 for the white. I was going to buy the due to the quality that Linus expressed in his review, the amount of things that come with, the comfort and the price. At this price is it still worth it? Do you guys recommend it? And finally any good substitutes that are max at 150 dollars?

Buy your headset and microphone separately.  It will perform much better and cost less.

Check out the Superlux HD668B.  They are insanely good for how much they cost.  Pair them with something like a Blue Snowball Microphone and you're in business for only $80.  You could even spend less by going with a less expensive microphone, the Blue Snowball is really a higher end mic.

Anyways, check out some reviews on the Superlux HD668B, you will find that they are raved about in the audiophile community as some of the best sub $50 headphones.

I personally feel that the mic on the HyperX Clouds are pretty bad.

Not bad advice, but if you use Skype or you plan on streaming PC games, avoid desktop mics at all costs.

Check out the Blue Snowball... its pretty freaking amazing and is often the go-to high end, low cost microphone.  I am constantly being told that my voice clarity is amazing and its because I use a Blue Snowball.

I am sure it's very clear.  The issue is that desktop mics on things like Skype and livestreams pick up all the background noise, table bumps, and vibrations.  I have desktop mic for recording and voice work.  I've used it a few times for gaming and it makes my rubber dome keyboard sound so much more annoying than mechanical keyboards.  It's massively annoying to the people who have to listen to your extra noises.

Yea, thats true I have heard of people having that problem, I've never encountered it ,or at least no one has complained and I skype and voicechat a lot.

In that case, the OP could buy a clipon mic or something similar to a modmic for $10+

Gaming headsets are usually so bad unless you get a really expensive one, and the HyperX Cloud is not cheap, even at $100.  Buying headset and microphone separately seems so much better.

Those are just plain headphones.  I think they cost around $30

You could read my review to find out.  I love them, I think they're very comfortable.  After like 6 hours, they get a little clampy, but its not bad at all.  It is even possible to add velour ear pads for this model for $20 or less.  Not something I have personally done, but I know others who have.

Oh I read it I just wanted to be sure about the comfort part. Thanks
