A month ago I got a new router and my desktop computer has had troubles connecting to the internet ever since. My computer will say it has a good connection, but then applications and internet software (My case Google Chrome), will say no internet connection. Although I do have quite a few devices connected to the WiFi. Also when my new roommate moved in he had 2 devices, that's when we experienced issues with our old router. Since the new router we also experienced it to not be as fast as the old one (maybe it has to do with the device threshold).

My devices: Samsung S4, iPad Mini 1st gen, and a desktop computer (the troubled one)

My roommates: 3 iPhone 5s's, ipad 3rd gen, Lenovo T430s laptop, desktop (with Ethernet plugged in), Mac book air or Samsung Chromebook 1st gen (she is a part time teacher so her and her partner switch laptops)

Number of devices at a given time: 9, 10 if including my desktop that has issues

Router: Motorola SURFboard 6580

Desktop: HP Envy 700-027c (with aftermarket power supply and graphics card)

Internet provider: Comcast XFINITY

Location: Northern California

Thanks!
