I have an old Thermaltake maxorb lying around with its mounting bracket but i lost the extension studs for the amd sockets, so i need a longer bolt or the same extension studs. The thing is that i cant find the right one in any local stores but neither can i buy of from ebay or aliexpress if i dont know the exact specifications... So im guessing it has a root of 3.5mm wide and i measured it had about 14 threads per cm ~ 0.7mmPitch  post-168967-0-28948000-1418502928_thumb.post-168967-0-58800600-1418502946_thumb.

But in ebay they are classified as M[number]*[number], what should i buy that is the same bolt but longer, or an extension stud of similar dimensions.

My mobo is an 990fxa-gd80 ms7640v2.2 MSI

Thanks in advance

Dont buy it off the internet unless it specifically says it's a replacement for your bolt.

Take the heatsink and bolt to your local hardware store and ask an employee for help

Example: M8 - 1.0 x 25

                 D  -   T  x  L

You need an M3.5 - 0.7 x (whatever length you need)

If you dont know what length you need, then use a tooth pick to measure it
