Far Cry 4 Crashing

I just finished downloading and tried to run the game, and it went fine up until I had clicked "new game" and it had finished loading. The game crashed to desktop. I restarted my computer and tried again. This time it couldn't even make it to the main menu, and it just crashed as soon as I opened it. I've got a GTX 970, and windows 8.1. All drivers are up to date, and I tried messing with the settings to see if that was causing the problem (Before I restarted)

UBI updated it today so when you launch UPLAY there should be a update to download with fixes hopefully it will solve your problem otherwise uninstall and re-download it, I know that's a pain put you don't have much options and your pc seems to be find unless you have a dual core which isn't suppoted

If it doesn't work after the patch verify cache through Steam.

I have the update. I just downloaded the game today

 

I don't have it on steam, I got it free with my 970.
