Sata II Help

Will a sata II port bottleneck my ssd or will i get full speeds.  I don't see why I would get a bottleneck because Even the highest quality of SSDs can do like 600 mbps read/write, but let me know if im wrong and why

I can help with programming and hardware.

It will bottleneck a little...That being said I do not notice it on my computer.

 

 

Its still well worth the price of the ssd even with the small bottleneck. SSD is still the best thing I added to my computer could not live without it.

SATAII gets 300MB/s(give or take). SSDs go far and beyond that, so yes your SSD will get bottlenecked.

Sata 2 WILL bottleneck an SSD. Sata 2's max speeds are 300mb/s, so it would be limiting an SSD

This is why proper capitalization is required when it comes to data unit sizes.

i did proper capitalization for the speeds.. didn't i? mB with a capitol B is bytes, a lowercase b is bits, correct?

@littlepigboy5 Yes and no. It will bottleneck large data transfers for sure but when you pc needs to read something from the drive it will 9/10 times really on IOPS speed, which isn't even close to as fast as sequential performance. I think it's still very much worth it. Just get something super cheap like an m500 from crucial. Dirt cheap and yet very fast. They were 85 for a 240gb on amazon in america last I checked.

Yes, but you typed mb. SATAII does 300 megabytes per second. Not megabits.
