Hey guys,

Im trying to create a hackintosh and before I begin I need to know a few things.

The first being, I want to dual boot Windows 8.1 and any OSX. Windows 8.1 on a 730 series (already installed), and OSX on a 7200RPM drive that I tore out of a PS4.

Is this possible?

Are my parts even compatible? i7 5820K, 16GB (4X4) G.Skill Ripjaws, and Asus X99 Pro, and a GTX 980.

If it is, will I see issue in the future?

Is there any chance of permanent damage to my system with this kind of a setup, and could I lose the data on my SSD or data HDD?

I own a 2013 iMac and a 32GB USB.

Cheers.

| Intel i7 5820K @ 4.8GHz | G.Skill Ripjaws 4X4GB | X99 PRO | HoF 980 | Asus MX299Q | Sennheiser HD600 |

http://tonymacx86.com/ Check there; not here. They have significantly better documentation than what anyone here likely will be able to provide. To answer your question about permanent damage: If it requires a custom BIOS and you fuck it up, then the motherboard is screwed.
