tryna build a pc for gaming (mostly fps like csgo but would love to run games like skyrim and such).

budget is 500 to 600 dollars (the cheaper the better). all i was able to salvage from an old pc was 8gb of crucial ram.

any input/criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Go for a 270 or 270X GPU. DO NOT get Win 7. Its ancient. Win 8.1 can be made to work exactly like Win 7 with classic shell. I'm using it right now.

Look at the ASUS Z97 anniversary board. It's a great board for the 3258.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

a 270 or 270x would be a better choice, as mentioned.

Further down the road, when you have the cash, an ssd will be a great upgrade.

Agreed, I use windows 8.1 with startisback (modernmixes alternative was extremely slow, startisback uses next to no resources)

I'm sorry I'm not the best with budget builds I can't make many recommendations, but the 8 GB of ram will do you just fine and that's a great save. Good luck with your build!
