CPU: i5 4670K 3.40Ghz (GETTING i7 4790k) 
RAM: RIPJAWS X 32GB
SSD: 840 Pro 240GB
HDD: WD Black 1TB x3
MB: MSI GD65 GAMING (Z97 SUGGESTIONS PLEASE $200-300)
SC: ASUS STX II
CPU WC: Corsair H110
FANS: Noctua NF-12 120mm x11

I have all of these items except for: SSD,HDD,CPU COOLER,FANS

Please tell me what you guys think before I start building or if there is anything I should change and or if you guys have recommendations.

16GB of RAM is more than enough, you should get a Z97 board if possible, sound cards aren't necessary, get one 3TB instead of 3 1TB's, try to get the 4690K instead it has better thermals but is otherwise the same. Everything else is fine. Didn't read the post fully. Get 1 3TB drive instead of 3 1TB drives. @JoshieGeek

If the 900D has restrictive hard drive cages in it, then I'd suggest sticking SP fans in the front of the case to help move air through the cages.

 

 

16GB of RAM is more than enough, you should get a Z97 board if possible, sound cards aren't necessary, get one 3TB instead of 3 1TB's, try to get the 4690K instead it has better thermals but is otherwise the same. Everything else is fine.

 

He already has everything but the SSD, HDD, CPU Cooler, and the fans, so changing the mobo and cpu would just be spending more money that he doesn't need to.

Though I would still recommend that he upgrades the mobo to z97.

 

and that amount of ram is way overkill for that build, the most he would really need would be 16gb, even then I doubt he would use all of it.

Msi z97 g55 sli for a cheaper one, I've got it in my rig and have had no problems with it.
