Good Gaming Laptops?

Annointed

Hey guys, what are some good gaming (not hardcore) laptops you guys recommend of a budget of $600? Also, it should be able to be bought at Future Shop or Best Buy in Canada.

Thank you so much! I'm not that great with Computers.

At that price, any multimedia laptop would give you the same gaming performance. I don't think I know of any manufacturers that focus on the GPU till you get to a proper gaming laptop.

Desktop: Intel Core i7-5820K, Corsair H115i, Asus X99-Deluxe/USB 3.1, G.Skill Ripjaws4 32GB 2800MHz CL16, Zotac RTX 3070, Samsung 950 Pro 512GB in Angelbird Wings PX1, Samsung 850 EVO 1TB, 5*Seagate 12TB, Cooler Master V1200, Phanteks Enthoo Luxe, Windows 10 Pro. Phillips 328P6VUBREB, Corsair Vengeance K95 RGB Cherry MX Brown, Logitech G502 X Plus, Sennheiser HD700.

AYANEO 2S: AMD 7800U, 32GB 7500MHz, 2TB WD SN850X. Windows 11.

It would probably have to be an older generation.

there are no gaming laptops at that price; you can only get slow standard laptops.

It would probably have to be an older generation.

My Dell XPS17 is 3 years which has a i7 Q 740M and Nvidia Geforce GT 445M 3GB and is worth a lot more than $600, so even older generations aren't cheap enough. If we are talking about older, then we are going back to time when the obsolete Windows XP was around to get a low enough price.

If that is all you can afford for a gaming machine, then I would suggest getting a console instead, such as the PS4 because even if you do mange to find a gaming laptop at that price it will not be able to cope with newer releases in the up coming months.

Ah alright, what would be a good budget? I think I would be able to boost it up.

Laptops that are capable of gaming aren't that cheap. Let alone if you get a regular laptop, it may overheat if you play intensive games. What games were you planning to play anyway?

Oh, then that's not too bad. A computer around your budget should be able to play the game easily.

Get ANY sandy bridge or newer gen laptop and you're fine.

Btw, this is what I recommend:

G580: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834312468

HDD Caddy: http://www.amazon.com/SATA-caddy-12-7mm-Universal-DVD-ROM/dp/B0056EW4A4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1371375776&sr=1-1&keywords=hdd+caddy+universal

Samsung 840: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Series-120GB-internal-MZ-7TD120BW/dp/B009NHAF06/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371375691&sr=8-1&keywords=840

So here's what you do:

1. Replace original hdd in laptop with the samsung 840 ssd.

2. Replace dvd drive with hdd caddy with original hdd in it.

3. Profit. You end up with a laptop under $600 that's fast with an ssd AND storage from the original hdd. You can also play League and other game of similar caliber.

You should be able to pull ~90 fps at max setting with the HD 4000 on the notebook.
