So a while ago Linus (and/or multiple other tech channels) discussed the problem AMD had been having with runt frames (very small section of the frame rendered) or dropped frames (frames missed entirely) and this was causing the user-viewed FPS to be as low as 50% the expected FPS output from the graphics card.

I'm hoping this was just a driver problem and that they've fixed it, as I plan for my next graphics card to be a 7950.

Was it a driver problem? Is it fixed?

It is not fixed, but it's really only an issue in crossfire. So you should have no qualms buying a single 7950, that is a great card.

The issue hasn't been fixed yet, however as "unidentical" said, it only really affects crossfire solutions, and even then a prototype driver has already been tested which got rid of the issue and so a driver with the fix for this should be released any day now.

Oh and expect a driver fix sometime soon, so you'll be set for CF in near future.
