Hey guys I am building a computer for a friend and here is what I have put together. He is a gamer and also just uses his computer for everyday computing. let me know what you guys suggest. i am open to options.

for gaming, an i5-4690k will do absolutely fine, and then you can get a z97 motherboard

 

the difference in performance in higher frequency memory is very small, so you could drop to ddr3-1600 and save money

 

also do not forget a cpu cooler for overclocking

This will murder all games even at 4K while being super silent. Yes I know the M500 is a bit outdated but it's almost 30 dollars cheaper than everything while performing the same, there is no real world difference.

 

If  he hasn't got an HDD already just get a seagate barracuda /WD Blue drive.
