Does the prices shown on Amazon.com inclusive of sales tax or the sales tax is charged extra?

As i want to order a GTX 980 which is of $579 but when i was about to place the order it added sales tax of $35. I live in India and if i buy from amazon.in the prices of every item are inclusive of taxes so i never have to pay anything additional.. 

Please answer me? As i am confused..

Yes, the tax is added to the advertised price.

I think it's because amazon is based in Washington ( I think), while newegg is in California where there is no sales tax. I prefer newegg as they also offer free shipping. Prime is cool too though.
