Hi guys,

I'm new to PC gaming and would like to build a decent gaming machine for <$2000.

I have done SOME research, but am feeling super overwhelmed with trying to pick the right components in order to get a good experience.

This is what I have come up with so far: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/3FTjLk

Any comments and/or suggestions?

(I'm also wondering if this CPU cooler will physically fit in the case with all the other components since it does look relatively large.)

Thanks for any input!

-E

(ps, if this is posted in the wrong sub-forum please give me a heads up!)

i am sorry but i have to say it you should just get windows 8.1

if you don't like the windows start screen just use classic shell from https://ninite.com/

I would recommend ditching the i5-3570k and going with a newer i5-4690k.  Then you can get rid of the z77 board and get you a z97 board.  There are a lot more of the z97 boards to choose from right now.

I would also recommend using Windows 8.1 over Windows 7.  I just upgraded when I went to a 4k display and I am much happier with Windows 8.1.

Noctua makes some pretty killer CPU coolers too.  They're pricey but an excellent option especially if you are purchasing one of those Noctua fans for the CPU cooler you selected.
