I also splurged a few bucks (150) for my mobo and it really doesn't show a difference because I'm not overclocking the CPU. I am now using a little ITX board for $40 which works like a charm so I'd say spend a little less on the mobo.

Thanks for the help I will consider both builds when I get a chance to look at them on a pc because I am using a tablet at the moment and it has a very small screen.
