Help: Sleeving Cables for first time

Hi everyone,

Its my pretty much new to the whole modding realm.

I purchased some nice sleeving from mdpc-x and am trying to sleeve a Corsair AX-1200.

I have successfully been able to pull the cables out using the staples trick on my 24 Pin Motherboard Cable.

However, (stupidly) I did not mark which cables go into which socket. Does it matter which pin socket it goes into?

Thanks in advance.

Theoretically no, but as Linus mentioned in one of his videos some power supplies are weird and have 2+ pins going into the same socket thingy, so it's best to put them in the same arrangement in that case.

Me: Yeah I just really can't get my H220 working again, I've tried everything that was suggested in the forum.

Brian (Swiftech Support): Hmm, have you tried slapping it?

From what I know it matters, I've always marked mine.

Each power supply is different.

Each cable has a different use, so they are required to be placed back in their respective slot.

The only exception is if the cable is the same as another.

IE You can switch a GND with another GND, +5v with another +5v.

Furthermore id suggest if you have forgotten the wire placement.

Google your power supplies wiring diagram, normally they are available online or in the power supplies manual.

Do not attempt to start your machine with the cables in their incorrect pinouts, you could potentially damage your system.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I ended up looking at a diagram and figured it out.

I tested it, and voila. Works normally. :D
