Having trouble deciding - Suggestions?

Like some others, I'm putting together a PC and it happens to be my first time building one. I've got the build down (build can be found on my other thread), but I'm having trouble choosing a monitor. I'm not an extreme gamer, and mostly do mild gaming (MMOs, Steam games, possibly high-end games in the future). My PC will be a general/gaming/mild work computer. Beside gaming and watching movies and whatnot, I do moderate image editing/gif making in Gimp and plan to try doing 3D work in something like Blender and maybe some video editing. Personally, the technical side doesn't bother me too much. I don't worry too much about having the best possible colors or best possible angles, and don't necessarily have to have 1ms or 4k resolution on a 27" monitor or something. I'm mostly leaning toward 1080p resolution and a 21"-24" monitor right now, never had one very big. I'd just like pretty decent monitor that could do all that pretty well.

With that in consideration, would you suggest TN or IPS? Or something else?

I'm gonna be looking and comparing, but I'm open to suggestions/links if anyone has any.

My price range for a monitor is $100-$170 USD, but I can bump it up to 200.

I appreciate any help.

I actually just bought one of these! Hoping the $20 MIR goes through so I would have only paid $115!

If you get a tn monitor, try to get a high refresh rate one, or for super cheap!

That's one monitor I was considering at one point, but I read some of the Newegg reviews and what I discovered was somewhat of a deal breaker for me. Multiple people mentioned the monitor would auto switch if there were multiple signals or manually have to press the input button to find their desktop, or something like that. Probably not too big a deal, but it's something I'm going to think over. Thank you for the suggestion though.  :)

Yep. This.

Same answer as above unfortunately.  But thank you for adding on to their recommendation. It's out of stock on Newegg, but I'm still considering it if it's available on Amazon.

I'm leaning toward an IPS monitor with low response time, but this is one monitor I'll keep in mind. Thanks a ton.  ^_^
