Hi, I'm planning on purchasing a new router soon. As I am soon ordering the components for my upcoming pc build, I want to make sure I want to have a good connection for gaming. My internet currently tends to time out every hour or so depending on how many people are on it, I believe I currently have some cheap 300MBPS D-link router. Basically what i'm trying to say is that I don't want a high end pc, but my internet causing it's performance to decrease or constantly disconnect me while i'm in-game. I currently live with a family that uses the internet very frequently, such as someone playing console, many times there are phones connected, or someone just browsing the web. In other words, my internet is used quite a bit by multiple devices at once. I'm honestly surprised that the router I currently have is keeping up with the multi-tasking my family does. I plan on using a powerline adapter, the one I've recently purchased on black Friday is shown in the following link. ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704165&cm_re=Powerline_adapter-_-33-704-165-_-Product ). So I basically came to this forums to ask, how much will I need to spend on a router that will receive decent ping, allow multiple people to use it at once while gaming, and what router would you recommend? I'm pretty flexible in prices, but would rather stay on the side of 100-180, and very possibly 200 if it's what I need. I won't be using a wireless card in my build, as I stated above I will be using a power-line adapter that will hopefully increase my performance by a bit. Please comment below any suggestions, they all help. Suggestions such as a good router brand, how many mbps it should have, ETC... Anyways, thanks for reading.  :)

I was considering this one, but i'd rather not spend 200$ on a router unless needed. Appreciate your feedback though!

you can get it for about 170, but if not that one then just look for one that is a dualband gigabit router
