Hey guys

I'm looking at buying a lenovo Y5070 Model: 59428700

intel i7 4710HQ 2.5ghz- 3.5ghz turbo

8gb ram

Nvidia GeForce gtx 860m 4gb

1tb + 8gb sshd 5400rpm

Windows 8.1

Just wanted to know if this laptop has any problems and if it would be good at running Solidworks (an engineering program i use) and playing new games

Any comments, advice, information or reviews would be highly appreciated

Thanks

Ashely

Eh, the Y50 has a terrible 1080p screen, and 4k is kinda overkill. There are probably better options

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

If you are going to game on it I would not get the 4k display because it is truly overkill and not needed. The 4k display will really bog down the small 860. The Lenovo Y series has a very solid built. A bit on the thick side but does not feel flimsy in the hands.

On my Lenovo Y410p.

I agree with norman_the_owl, the screen sucks, however you can buy an IPS replacement online that looks much better, it also takes only about 10 min. to switch them. And the 4k one is not meant for gaming only video consumption and editing. Oh and the sshd is garbage
