International shipping

Go to solution Solved by 91Chris,

From my experience... You probably will be hit with import duties. :/

If you ask nicely, they might mark it as a "gift". That way it slips under the net ;)

People in China are usually more than happy to mark it as a gift, but in the US they seem gay and all law abiding lol.

I desire to order a few things to the UK. I wanted to ask if i will have to pay any taxes or other fees upon the shipping and cost of the items themselves. For example a cpu, gpu, mobo and ssd for about 900 dollars and 100 dollars shipping. So would i pay anything more than the $1000 stated?

All costs were obtained from the NCIX Canada website :)

You guys are crazy. You know you guys are self-destructive. There's a funny farm somewhere and it's got your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' outta here.

I've never had to pay any additional taxes, although I haven't bought a whole computer from overseas, only a couple of small things here and there.

It may be different with your situation because of large amounts electrical goods or the rules of your country.

Just buy from the uk. I live in Denmark and i have only bad experience with oversea shipments. Have a few times payed more than double for small packages.

Stuff I have I like: Moto G - Superlux HD681 Evo - Monoprice 9927

90% of what I say is sarcasm.

Prices. Prices in the UK are not the same in the US even when you take into account the exchange rate. Many times it is cheaper to buy from US and ship it to the UK; but this relies on not being hit with customs charges which is a very risky (and costly) 50/50 chance you take.

Does it matter what you buy? or is it just electronic stuff

I think customs charges vary on what type of product you buy. Not entirely sure how much difference there is, but i'm pretty sure there is a difference.

Yeah there's a difference, and electronics will generally be the worst.
