definitely. check your mobo's support page if it has a single xeon on it all xeons will work.

Hi, I'm planning a build for a friend of mine.

For the CPU i chose the Xeon 1230v3 as it's some euros more than a 4690K but it's basically an i7 without iGPU.

I want to know if a H97 motherboard will support it and if it supports non-ECC memory.

Could you also suggest me a good cooler(silent)not too expensive(i don't need overclock, since Xeons are locked)

h81 would work just fine.

katana 4, cm 103, tx3, 212 evo. anything tower would do.
