CPU: AMD FX 9590

Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 revision 4.0

GPU: Gigabyte g1 gaming GTX 980

RAM: 8gb

PSU: 850 watt

boot drive: Intel 530

BIOS: F2

OS: Win 7 Home premium 64bit

While playing games on my computer it has been shutting off while playing a few specific games. It is not a bsod, there is no error message, the computer just completely shuts down. The two confirmed games are shadow warrior (the new one) and receiver. with receiver it usually goes for about 10-30min before happening, with shadow warrior it went 2 hours before happening. I have not experienced this while playing other games, including battlefield 4. I have played bf4 without incident for 8 hours.  My first thought was overheating, but my GPU temp never hits 70 degrees Celsius according to afterburner and rtss. My CPU temp never got above 53 degrees Celsius according to core temp. My computer will also shut off immediately if I run Kombustor. Any help solving this issue would be appreciated.

Update your BIOS
Check Temps on other Monitor software but always trust your BIOS temps

Check for game and software updates like windows updates.

anything overclocked?
Could run Prime95 for stress testing to check your system isnt failing

NO NO NO NO! The computer is shutting off without a BSOD, it's probaly a faulty PSU, what if it shuts off during the BIOS update? You will end up with a dead motherboard

Also I trust aida64 more than prime95

Most likely power supply. Tell us the brand and name of it please. Also run something that causes it to crash while monitoring the 12+ rail on HWMonitor. If it dips below 11.4, it is a PSU issue. :(

the power supply is an azza dynamo

I do have the latest bios according to gigabytes website

-

Ew, Azza is terrible for power supplies. Corsair, Seasonic, and EVGA (G2, and SuperNOVA series) are much better. That PSU you have would happily fry your computer.

Install HWMonitor, run something that makes your computer crash, and monitor the 12+ rail's voltage during this. If the voltage drops below 11.4, it is the PSU. Just a tip, NEVER cheap out on a power supply.

Get HWMonitor naow! :P

Edit: Had wrong link. Whoops!
