Hey guys

As I'm getting a new monitor I don't know if I should get a 1440p or not. The only 1440p I can find is mostly IPS panels, but as I'm gaming would it make such a difference on 5MS and 1-2 MS on my gaming? I'm playing wow, arma 3 etc. No FPS such as CSGO etc.

I have a 780 and 4790k both overclocked so I should be able to power it up.

So there's no such difference in TN and IPS unless you play FPS?

IPS have better viewing angles/colors while TN have better response times and are generally cheaper. I personally don't notice the difference between 2ms and 5ms though.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

Ah okay, well should be good enough with a IPS :)

Which one would you recommand? Aslong as it's just 1440p, IPS and 60hz.

yes yes yes, yes god yes.

Pb278q has been very good to me, and it's not mega expensive.

(...and no, you probably won't notice 5ms at all.)

IMO IPS/PLS/etc. is the way to go, 1440p is really nice for productivity but honestly I think 1080p with a bit of AA is fine for gaming in the 27" and under range as 1440p does take a fair bit more power to drive with only a relatively small visual fidelity increase however with the price of the Korean monitors its hard to pass them up and there is no denying that 1440p is better then 1080p, I have 2 X-Star DP2710LED PLS screens and can highly recommend them. They overclock well too, one will go to 100Hz and the other gets to 120Hz with no artefacting.
