You should be fine, almost every windows 7 game runs on windows 8 :)

I want to build a new PC and install windows 8.1. My problem is that I also want to use my old HDD which is loaded with a bunch of stuff that I know is compatible with windows 7, which is my current OS. My question is will I run into a lot of issues when trying to run the programs I already have installed on my HDD?
