Unidentified Network - No Internet Access

This is the message my windows 7 gives me all the time, no internet connection at all.

I have no idea what to do, I have tried everything I can think of. Next step would be windows-reinstall.

Wake on lan works for some reason.

I have a sabertooth Z97 MK I with two lan ports, have tried both and reinstalled the drivers over an over again.

I am using homeplugs to get my internet.

Any input is appreciated!

What I tried already:

  • reboot router
  • check router settings
  • reconfigure my homeplugs
  • disabled one of my lan ports through the bios
  • use other lan ports on router
  • set a static local ip for my pc in windows
  • updated my bios

Sounds like you need to designate the connection as public or private. Then it should work just fine.

its designated as public.

i dont know how to force windows to make it private..

To rule out the router, have you tried running an ethernet cable straight from your modem to your PC?

wake on lan works, so my pc should have an internet connection and the homeplugs should be fine.

an other pc in my household has internet access.
