Why gtx 980

So I just got an Evga gtx 980. I was expecting it to have leds on the side however it is just rubber with a green sticker or something on the side. I was planning on changing the green lighting to red however that is not really an option anymore. Anyone got any ideas

Maybe some reflective tape or ink drawn in on the name with red led? Idk just trying to be creative. :D

You can disassemble the shroud, pull the logo, sand the green off and paint it however you like/keep it white.

It is rubber,not a plastic led

It's a logo that pops out of the shroud, the logo has LEDs embedded behind it. You can sand the green dye off of the logo, and then you end up with white.

 

I never said it was plastic.

Sort of... You said if you sand it off it will be white. That is untrue with this card. There is no leds in the card what so ever

If you sand off the green from the logo, the logo will appear and shine white (unless you sand too much.)

 

And if there are no LEDs, what is lighting the logo?

There is nothing lighting the logo lol. It is just says geforce gtx in rubber letters with a green sticker over it

There's a distinct glow to the GEFORCE GTX logo on a GTX 980, it's lit by a flat LED behind it.
