Pc gamer since the mid 80's. Never been someone to build a pc from scratch. I buy a new pc every 3 years, use same as cash financing and pay it over 6 months, etc.. usually spend between $1300 to 2000$ every time.

Going to use cyberpowerpc this time. this is what i have built.
Comes in at $1686.

  • Any advice/ideas, please share.
  • Case: AZZA Silentium 920B ( I like ultra quiet pcs)
  • CPU: i5-4690 3.50 6mb
  • Cooling: corsair hydro series h60 120mm cooling
  • Motherboard: asus z97-a atx
  • Memory: 16gb ddr3/2133mhz corsair vengeance
  • video: EVGA FTW edition gtx 970. ( might sli in the future)
  • power supply: 750 watt corsair cs, series cs750m 80 plus gold, ultra quiet
  • Hard drive: 256gb corsair force lx series sata 3.
  • Hard drive 2nd: 1tb in raid mirror
  • Optical: lg 12x blu ray
  • Sound: Creative labs audigy (I just can't believe motherboard sound could be as good, old timer here, am i wrong?)

I added anti vibration fan mounts and a power supply gasket for noise.

Standard motherboard lan, i have a killer lan/motherboard now, but too many issues, i figure a standard one should be fine no?

Any ideas?
should i go for the i7-4790k 4.0 ghz 8mb cpu instead for an extra $130? I figure any ssd would be a huge upgrade over what i'm used to, prices vary greatly, with the intel 730 ones being very expensive.

any need for extra case fans? is the power supply good enough in case i add another 970 a year or two from now?

Motherboard ok? that is one thing i know nothing about.. so many options. This one should be sli capable, and has raid.

Thanks a lot all.

hyper 212 evo would work almost the same as an h60 for a whole lot less, if you want to water cool id suggest an h80i, although you would not really need to water cool since you aren't OCing, and you would not need a z series board either, an h series would work, unless you want the option to be able to buy a cpu you can overclock in the future

ok thanks for the info.  Don't care too much about overclocking.  maybe in the 3rd year of this pc i may need to, but if i end up getting another 970, i should be fine.
