CPU Compatibility

Go to solution Solved by Lysene,

Unfortunately no because the VRM circuit on this motherboard can not provide the full 220w power required for the FX-9000 series CPUs.

So would the PCB just burn out? or would it just not run at full capability? what would be the best processor i could use on this board?

Ive recently bought a Asrock 990fx extreme 3 motherboard, with the hope of installing a fx 9590 into it. In know that the socket would fit, but im worried if it will be too powerful for the PCB to handle and simply burn out?
I was going to water cool in with a H100i, but im still worried as to whether or not the Wattage though the PCB will be too great.
Would greatly appreciate help on this matter.

The FX-9590 is only an overclocked FX-8350...it won't perform any better so save yourself some bucks and just get and FX-8320 or FX-8350 and overclock it yourself...
