The only thing I don't like about the Pro4 Motherboard is that it's a microATX and I have a mid tower case. This is my case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811345012

It won't change anything, ATX or mATX both will fit this case nicely and will give you the same results.

but anyway it's up to you to pick a motherboard you like with features you need, i'd just suggest to stick with H97 chipset motherboards.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |

| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 3 VR

Okay. Thanks a lot for the help. I'm not well versed on Intel CPUs and you helped a lot.

you are welcome, also i would just like to point you that in regards to gaming your performance will not really be increased that much by a new CPU like that because your limiting factor will be your GPU...you will get more consistent framerates and higher minimum FPS with a more powerful CPU but the thing is that the part you own right now are evenly matched which is a good thing but it also means that to get noticeably better performance in games you'd need to upgrade both...so basicaly you won't see a tangible benefit from such a CPU until you upgrade your GPU as well so you might want to save some more money until you can afford to upgrade both at once...

Ok I see what you are saying. Honestly for the time being I just want to get and play Far Cry 4. I'd love to upgrade in the future but I am really looking forward to playing Far Cry 4. When I upgrade GPU is it worth going Nvidia or staying AMD?

your current setup will run far cry 4 just fine...albeit not on high settings but on low/mediumish 1080p should be doable.

About GPu, both are good...AMD gives you more performance per dollar..unless you can afford a GTX 970 which is a very good card for the price...R9 290 or R9 280X would be great choices as well...and maybe by then the GTX 960 will be competitive we don't know yet.

no worthy upgrade on AMD's side, as i mentionned the FX-6300 would be the only worthy upgrade BECAUSE you can run this chip on your current motherboard and it's slightly better than what you have...but if you are to buy a new motherboard anyways then AMD is out they have nothing that is really noticeably better than the 4100 other than that.

intel would be this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor ($104.99 @ Amazon)

Motherboard: MSI H81M-E34 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($44.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $149.98

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

If you have some more to spend i'd suggest this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($174.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Motherboard: MSI H81M-E34 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($44.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $219.98

If you go with AMD you might require a bios update on the board prior to using the FX-6300 i'm not sure so if you go with that maybe update the bios first before you get rid of the 4100.

I was looking different Intel CPUs and the i5-4440 is $190 and it's benchmark score was 6480. Or i can pay $10 more and get an i5-4590 which has a benchmark score of 7244. DO you think it would be worth it and are they the same as far as chipset, socket, etc. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116942&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116991

yes i think the 4590 is worth the 10$ difference it has a 300mhz faster boost clock.
