Hello,

I need a multimedia/game pc for my livingroom. I want a high end as possible gpu. I need it to fit into a Silverstone Milo ML07B or a Silverstone Raven RVZ01 those are the only 2 options.

my budget is about $850,- i have a keyboard, mouse and i'm using it on my tv. i need a SPDIF out for my audio setup though. i want to use mostly silent parts.

i dont want to overclock the system and i need a minimum of 2TB HDD and squize in a 120GB SSD if its possible.

thanks in advance!

This is the ideal system for you, but this is what your budget allows. Don't get me wrong, the R9 290 for that price might as well be free and it's a good idea even if you decide to get the i5 but can't reach the price of the 970. The 970 on the other hand would be a bit quieter and would put out far less heat.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

i've mixed both and changed around some parts. is This a good build?

Yes, but for the same price you'd get more performance out of an i5 and 290 system

is the i3-4360 such a huge bottleneck it will decrease the fps below a i5-4440 with a r9 290? Seems kinda odd though but for those $20,- i can just consider a i5 instead of the i3.

we're talking 20 - 25 fps in some games which leverage the extra cores (yes, the i5 in the benchmark is a 4690 but the big performance jump is due to actual core count, not frequency) besides, there would be a good increase in general use performance too.

will this psu support all of those parts? Be quiet! SFX Power 2 400W (i know the msi gtx 970 gaming is a 6+8 pin card, the asus geforce gtx 970 strix isn't though its only 8 pin)

Just barely if at all. Go for at least 450watts, shouldn't be much more expensive. Oh, and don't touch anything that is less than 80+ bronze rated, those things could explode or kill your cat. If you don't have one they'd buy one for you and kill it, then explode.

according to pcpartpicker it will be around 300W on full load with a i5-4440 + gtx 970. This psu saves me €20,- over the silverstone 450W one. it will support the asus gtx 970 strix and the gigabyte gtx 970 mini-itx because they both have a single 8-pin connector and all others have dual 6-pin or 8-pin + 6-pin.

Hm I guess you'd probably be fine, but a little headroom never hurts... also, take pcpartpicker's esteems with a grain of salt, it's it as easy as it might seem to know exactly how much power a system will draw. But now that I think about it you should be fine, before i was thinking of the 290, and that wasn't going to run on a 400w ^^
