Hello guys,

I now run a Intel core i5 2500 and I wonder if I will get a big performance improvement if I update to an Intel i7 4770K cpu, or if I could better wait until the next generation of proccesors.  Or if I should upgrade something else?

What do you pan on doing with your PC? For just gaming, I would say stick with your i5, but for video or photo editing and rendering, you will see a massive performance improvement with going to haswell, due to mainly having 4 cores and 8 threads.

I usually game a LOT and every ones in a while I record the content of the game and edit it and then I render.
But will there be a improvement in games?

Stick with your current cpu. It is still very decent.

If you want better gaming, a gpu upgrade would be nice. A 7950 would wreck if you don't need cuda for editing/rendering.

And even so, Open CL came to Adobe CS6 suite, assuming you are using Premiere to render.

Codename: HighFlyer, specs:  CPU: i5 2500k cooled by a H70ish(2 rad)   Mobo: MSI MPower Z77   GPUs: Gigabyte GTX 660 OC 1150 MHZ core, 3150 memory both   RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16G @1600mhz   SSD: ADATA Premier Pro sx900 / HDD Seagate Barracuda 1TB/Samsung 1TB   Power supply: Corsair RM650 80+ Gold   Case Corsair Carbide 500R   5.4 ghz achieved on the good old 2500k, may it rest in peace. Current daily OC is 4.8 @1.41 v

True, but for now, cuda still does it better.

I do usually render with Sony Vegas which only uses cuda. But which Gpu is the best to buy with a 500/600 budget?

Gtx 770/780.

If you don't want to spend all your money, you might be able to grab a cheap 670 for $300
