my 980's are in the first and third slots, and they run fine

Hi just a quick question to the more experienced i currently have a 980 g1 gaming gpu and am looking to go sli but as you know the g1 card is quite big so it covers my second pci slot will i be able to put the second card in the 3rd pci slot and it would work all slots are x16 or would it be easier to just go and sell this card and buy a smaller one? thx.

Should work just fine, unless your motherboard says it won't, but then you'd have to consult your motherboard manual.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

it will be fine as long as the sli connector reaches it
