My first post, so don't hate me please. This is probably going to sound like a really dumb question to most people, but I'll ask anyways. So I have a modem with average speeds I guess. Now say I buy a dual band gigabit router and connect that to my modem, and use the router instead of the modem to connect everything. Will that boost my internet connection? Will my download and upload speeds go up, or down, or will they be affected at all? I'm really confused about all of this, and would like to learn more. Can anybody help a brother out?
