I want to get a NAS so i can stream my media to all my devices in my house.  I have an old Hadron air case, 2tb WD Green HD and a 4gb stick of ram in my garage taking up space, what i want to know is should i spend $200 and buy a

and a second 2tb hd and use free nas on that build,

Which would give a better experience? and which is worth my $200?

You would get better read write speeds when building your own. UNLESS you spend 500$ on a good off the shelf nas, then the speeds are the same.
