Black flag fps issues

Hi recently upgraded to a 980 all games run great

, but black flag seems worse than on my 7870. Any suggestions what could be causing this. My cpu is a Intel Core I5-3570 Processor (3.40GHZ, 6MB Cache, Socket 1155).

Also had the issue with a 970 I returned a few days ago.

I haven't tried playing it on my 970, but I'm going to say poor driver optimizations.

Theres video on YouTube of people getting 60fps on 970 on higher settings. I'm getting drops to 24 with vsycn and drops to 45 with vsycn off.

vsync shouldn't be causing a 30% performance drop.

 

Have you updated your drivers? Black Flag ran like a dream on my 290x at 1440p which is a lesser card to the 970

Gonna to reinstall the game. I'm getting better fps in unity on ultra than in black flag. (got both unity and far cry 4 free with gpu)

I remember those smoke effects used to kill frame rates in Black Flag on NV cards but I thought they fixed that.

This is LTT. One cannot force "style over substance" values & agenda on people that actually aren't afraid to pop the lid off their electronic devices, which happens to be the most common denominator of this community. Rather than take shots at this community in every post, why not seek out like-minded individuals elsewhere?
