Will an additional ram help much in this instance.

I am trying to help a friend with his computer issues, this is the only option at this moment, and I was wondering if the cost was justified.

 

Specs:

AMD Phenom 2 X2 555 @3.2ghz

Asustek M4A78L-M

2gb (one stick) DDR2 800mhz

MSI Nvidia Geforce 8800GS

Windows 7 64bit

 

 

The question is if I added another 2gb stick at 667mhz would it receive a speed up in performance where $25 is worth it.

 

Keep in mind this is the only type of upgrade possible at this time, no cpu, no new system, nothing.

he does play tf2, and terraria at low settings and that is pretty much all he plays other than flash games.

yes it would. 4gb is now a minimum for just chrome

For $25, shure go for it.

It won't increase fps, but it will make his system overall more fluent. Definitely worth the $25

thanks for all the help, never had to deal with something this low powered, or overly powered before (low in comparison to my specs, overly compared to the first comps I owned)
