Raid 0 and SSDs, which should I get?

j.dirona

So along with a few other upgrades I'm planning on getting two SSD's in Raid 0. My budget for this will be 250 Canadian.

So what would you guys suggest I get in terms of drives? which ones are the best for the price?

Thanks :)

Hey there j.dirona,

May I ask about the reason why you are going with two SSDs in RAID 0? It is true that they bring great read/write speeds and you can benefit a lot from them if you work with large files or load bigger games or programs. It is likely, though, that your initial boot time will actually increase and be worse compared to a single SSD for your OS. Also, using RAID 0 puts your data at double the risk compared to a single drive. If either drive fails, you would lose all data on the whole array in addition to any cached data that is not transferred to a third-party storage.
