Setting up crystal link

Go to solution Solved by Ghost,

So is using acrylic tubing worth it?

Expect it not to work first time around. Expect to have to spend ages setting it up.

If you do it with those expectations its worth it.

I was just wondering how you set up crystal link because I heard it's very annoying and I don't want to use it if it will take like a month to set up.

No, I think he's talking about Bitspower's product, which I have no knowledge on, but thought I would help clarify.

As above, crystal link is the name of a bitspower multi-gpu fitting.

I think you're thinking of a full acrylic tubing setup.

It takes long than normal tubing because you need to measure angles in-depth, whereas with tubing you don't need to.

how long would it take

depends on how good you want the finish to be and how much time you have in the day, probably looking at several hours like 3-4 to get the tubing to the perfect lengths.

So it should be easy to set up but annoying to plan.

Correct. And it will be even more annoying if you plan it wrong.

Acrylic tubing is meant for showcase build; that is computers that you have that you don't actually need. For something you need to use daily and plan to dis-assemble and put together as fast as you can you will just become frustrated. Especially if you need a random extra fitting and need to wait for it in the post for a few days.

I used a crystal link between my cpu and gpu and I can tell you it is a pain in the ass to remove it once it's in firm.

I physically couldn't hold my gpus in mid-air to pull apart the crystal link to cpu (not enoguh hands) so In the end I gave up and shattered it with my tube cutters.
